I am Sakshath. I am taking this course from Kaiserslautern, Germany.
Kaiserslautern is a small city filled mostly with football fans, if not students. Good reasons to be here is to experience a fast forest (Palatinate) and the German wine culture (due to the nearby Neustadt a.d. Weinstrasse.).
I am a post-doctoral researcher, with a PhD in experimental condensed matter physics. My PhD was mostly about thin film deposition/nanustructuring/instrumentation directed towards understanding magnetic properties. In my previous job, I studied time-resoved dynamics of magnetization.
In my current job, I started to learn about Mossbauer spectroscopy and hyperfine interactions. I expect that this course will help me to get a good understanding of the physics of hyperfine interactions so that I can use it for my research. My long term goal is to stay in academics. So, I hope it goes a long way to get good fundamentals through a course.
