    1) The tensor is axially symmetric as well. Furthermore, it is a diagonal matrix.

    2) Rotation of the setup over the x-axis, y-axis or z-axis, does not change anything. Also, the dumb-bell is positioned on the symmetry plane of the two electrons in the electron cloud. This means the dumb-bell will experience a symmetric field gradient over the whole xy plane of the setup.
