There are three contributions to the magnetic hyperfine field: A child is sitting on the carrousel holding in one hand an electrically charged ball and in the other a bar magnet. The charged ball is an analogy to the orbital contribution to the hyperfine field, while the bar magnet is an analogy to the the spin-dipolar contribution.
If we now allow the child to run around on the carrousel, even to the center, we have an analogy for the Fermi contact contribution.
The last ingredient: the magnetometer, can be used the measure the magnetic field contributions of the bar magnet and the electric charge in the middle of the carrousel.
