    The expression for the interaction between the electron cloud and the nucleus is often very complicated and may even not be analytically solvable. Another inconvenience which may occur is that there is no possibility to seperate the different terms according to their contribution, such as the monopole term whose solution is already known and is therefore not needed to be calculated again.
