    Since a=mu*B/(I*J), we can determine mu2 by calculating the ratio a1/a2. This is possible because the electronic part doesn’t change between two isotopes of the same element. This means B and J will remain the same, so that a1/a2=mu1*I2/(mu2*I1). Since in this expression everything except mu2 is known, we can use it to determine mu2.
