The measurement of through which slit the electron goes, collapses the wavefunction of the electron to only two possible states. By measuring through which slit each electron goes, there is only one probability amplitude per electron, the one from the slit the electron went through. Therefore, there is no more interference and the screen shows two distinct bands, as for small particles.
