    The main difference between the quantum and classical case was discrete vs continuous energy levels. So by increasing the nuclear spin to a very high number (which would correspond to excited nuclear states, for example) the orientation is quantised into very many levels, approximating a continuum. Therefore the energy levels will approximate a continuum more closely as well.
