First of all, using the experimental set-up, the new coupling constant a will be measured. Measure for different J values, so the Lande interval rule can be used to gain the value of F. The matrix elements on slide 12 can then be fully calculated. Using this together with the fact that we already have mu_1 and I_1 for a different isotope, mu_2 can be found through the equation on slide 10.
