Start by imagining you are in a sphere, the nucleus, around you a smaller sphere is rotating around the one you are in. Now start recording for certain times where this electron is relative to you. You will observe that you saw the electron at certain position a lot, these will be position where we have a high probability of finding an electron. But you will also sometimes see that the electron is inside the sphere you are in.
