Since all the terms present for the quadrupole interactions are constant, being the nuclei spin responsible for the difference between one level and another, an external force must be applied to achieve a behavior closer to the toy model. If we take a fully polarised nucleus and apply an external magnetic field, we can take advantage of the nuclei spin coupling with magnetic fields to change the direction for which the nuclei is pointing. If the direction of the magnetic field change with time, we can get a similar result to the one presented for the toy model, being, in this case, a plot between energy vs time instead of energy vs angle.
