    I am personally a bit confused by “Imagine all electron charges stay outside that nucleus.”. I think this does not mean that the wave function of the electrons will be zero at the origin, so in that case there will be a finite size correction.

    But then again, if the wave function is non-zero at the origin, this means the electron must spend some time there.
