    Electrons will create a non uniform hyperfine field. Because the nuclei has a finite size, this means that some parts of the nuclei feel different fields. It is thus important here that there is a non-zero radius.

    Because of this non-uniformity, the Boh-Weisskopf effect can be non zero while the Fermi contact contributions can be zero.
