    For J = 2 L and S are parallel and pointing in the same direction so if looking at it as a vectorsum the magnitude will just be the sum of the two magnitudes, for a similar reason J = 0 corresponds to the parallel orientation pointing in the opposite direction.
    For J = 1 they are perpendicular to each other.
