You start with the field in a certain direction and a certain radio frequency. You find the frequency for where there is maximum absorption. Via the frequency and the molecule details you find the different g-values of the tensor. Then you change the direction of the field a bit and again scan through the frequencies for maximum absorption peak and note the parameters.
