    I think the hyperfine field is the same in both cases. A smaller or larger hyperfine field would result in a smaller or larger magnetic hyperfine splitting. This would result is a smaller or larger distance in the drops of the Mössbauer spectrum, which does not seem to be the case in the given example.

    I don’t know why the drops are more pronounced in the 18K case. Maybe it has something to do with the larger thermal energy at higher temperatures?
