The nuclear resonance scattering can be used to obtain the hyperfine parameters by fitting the delayed intensity spectrum. A synchrotron radiation source is used to excite the the system from to a higher nuclear state. All possible transitions are excited by the incomming photon beam. Light is emitted when the system decays to the initial state. The delayed intensity is detected and is plotted in a time spectrum. By fitting this delayed intensity spectrum, the hyperfine parameters, like hyperfine field, isotope shift, … can be obtained.
