It’s an exponential decay because the nuclear dacay follows an exponential curve with the half-life as a parameter, the more excited nucleai, the more radiation. But when the nuclei have been de-excited there will be less emission.
It was to be expected that the 1-3 conmbination would have more cases because both deterctors are aligned, so the nucleai that are aligned with that direction will likely emmit radiation to them and not to the 2 which is perpendicular
