    For the probe to move at a controllable speed, it is better that it can move over a relative large table to accelerate and decelerate. However as light would scatter in the air in between, the whole path would best be engulfed in vacuum. This is not a cheap feat. This can however be solved by creating rotational speed, at a certain circular velocity, the speed of sound will also be reached and the whole set-up can fit in a small space which is thus cheaper to completely pull into vacuum
