    I’m not really certain that this is an answer to the question, but I would just enlarge the number of possible spin orientations that are allowed in the quantum situation. If the number of allowed states rises, then so does the number of allowed energy levels. This method can be compared to going from a situation with just a small number of allowed states and energy levels to a situation where an infinite amount of states and energy levels are allowed. This will lead to the formation of energy bands, which will be quite similar to the classical situation.
