    I think, but I am really guessing here, that we could evolve to a classical scenario if we let the energy levels become very small. This would also entail that, in the I=1 case that we let the \eta parameter become very small, therefore the corrections are very very small and additional splitting we discussed would no longer occur.

    Basically, when going from quantum to classical, one needs to make the energy levels, which are discrete, very small, so that they are almost indistinguishable from each other. I think something similar can be done here, so that we just go to the quadrupole moment we found in the toy model.
