    NMR/ON is conducted at a low temperature. This means that the difference in occupation of the hyperfine levels of the nuclei in the sample is large. We can change this occupation by absorbing photons of the right frequency until all the hyperfine levels are equally occupied. If this happens, it means that the anisotropy you normally would have measured in an LTNO measurement will vanish. The frequency at which the distribution of gamma rays emmited by the radioactive nuclei is isotropic is called the resonance frequency. The hyperfine field that is corresponding to this frequency is the value of Bhf you are looking for.
