    1) We can infer that nucleus has spin value I = 1, which gives us three orientations in space mI = +1,0,-1. And these orientations differ in energy,thus depending on th temperature we will have different orientations for the nucleus

    2) For low temperatures nuclei will tend to be at the lowest energy state. And we can see from the second figure that this would be mI=-1.
