    From the spectrum, we know the nucleus has spin 1 (because there are 2*1 + 1 orientations). The splitting indicates a magnetic HFF-interaction.

    At all temperatures, there is 1 preferred orientation, so the system is a pear. How sharp the distribution of orientations is, is determined by maxwell-boltzmann statistics, which is temperature dependent.
