    (2) At low temperature, the majority of the nuclei will be in the lowest energy state, which in this case is the m = +1 state.
    This means that the nuclear ensemble will have a polarized orientation, since it means that most of the nuclei’s spin will be pointed in the same direction

    After some more thinking, the only thing I can think of for question (1) is that the nucleus is in a magnetic field pointing in the positive direction. I think this because the m=+1 state is the lowest in energy, which means that this state corresponds to the spin being aligned with a magnetic field.
