    J = 0 –> parallel and pointing in opposite directions. Because L and S point in opposite directions their vectors will go to zero.

    J = 1 –> perpendicular to each other. Because they are perpendicular they will not influence each other aside from their possible direction on their cone. Because of this J will be equal to the value of L which is

    J = 2 –> parallel and pointing in the same direction. They will add to each other in the same direction and as such J will be the sum of the both of them which is 2.
