I guess there isn’t really a paradox, because it is the comparison between toy model 0 and toy model A where we see that the contribution of tmA to the energy is smaller than the contribution of tm0 due to the additional charge. But this doesn’t mean you don’t have a positive contribution due to the electric monopole shift, it’s just the difference between tm0 and tmA.
