    a) From equation on slide:
    From the equation we can write down V_xx, V_yy and V_zz. If we calculate the assymetry parameter n = (V_xx – V_yy) / V_zz and we find that this is 0. This means there is axial symmetry.

    b) From visualisation of model
    The dumb-bell can rotate freely in xyz space. For each orientation of the dumb-bell, we can find an axis around which we can rotate without changing anything about the situation. This means there is axial symmetry.
