    What qualitatively distinguishes the quantum situation from the classical one, is that the energy correction can only take discrete values, instead of a continuum of values. For a very large value of nuclear spin, there would be so many discrete energy levels, that the difference between them would become negligibly small, and the spectrum would be quasi-continuous.
