The relative energy difference between the monopole and the exact solution (or between the monopole and the monopole and quadrupole solution) becomes smaller for a smaller size of the nucleus compared to the electron cloud size. This is to be expected since a smaller nucleus will naturally have a smaller quadrupole moment and therefore a smaller quadrupole contribution in the energy.
