When I think of multipole moments, I think of almost spherical shapes or spheres that are distorted. The first thing that came to my mind when thinking of this was an egg. I think the multipole expansion of an egg-shape would look similar to that of the ellipses in the video, but there would also be a dipole term, since an egg is not symmetric (it has axial symmetry, but is not symmetric relative to the plain perpendicular to the symmetry axis).
