    1. So taken literally I imagine a vessel containin a gas with our nuclei of interest on a track moving at the speed of sound. This seems rather cumbersome given that the world record fastest train is 460km/h (maglev China) < 1234.8 km/h speed of sound . One could argue that’s a stationary target, however even if we have a traintrack of oppositely moving vehicles that’s still not enough relative velocity.

    2. Fighter pilots are manmade objects that controllably break the sound barrier BUT can we make a minituriazed version ? I have no knowledge of such a minituriazed fighter jet.

    3. The vehicle is a bullet. Now we are sending a bullet on our target. So we either have to intercept it before reaching the target or have it over large enough distance that the curvature forbits it from reaching the target. Probably there should be an isolating layer between the firing mechanism and the vessel because it could heat up the gas.

    4. Why just not ions , we can control those with a magnetic field and its a lot more energy efficient. We are not accelerating a vessel .
