The nucleus is the heaviest part of the atom and consists of a proton or multiple protons and in most cases neutrons as well, which are held together by a strong short ranged nuclear force and in turn consist of quarks.
The nucleus is positively charged and its charge is equal to its amount of protons.
The size of the nucleus is extremely small in comparison to the size of the entire atom.
The aformentioned protons and neutrons have a spin which means that the nucleus can have a spin as well.
